The LMK-31x/315x scanning heads with integrated electronics include all of the necessary components to deliver the final 1VPP sine wave or RS422 Square wave output signal to the control. A size 15 bearing block is modified to carry the encoder sensor in perfect alignment to the profile rail bearing mounted encoder grating. The signal conditioning electronics are housed within an IP-67 enclosure carried on top of the bearing block. A flexible coupling is used to attach the moving scanning head to the motion system and forgive reasonable lateral runout.
The LMK-31x can be used interchangeably with any LMF-310 or LMF-320 measuring rail. The LMK-315x can be used interchangeably with any LMF-3150 or LMF-3250 measuring rail.
As an option, an integrated limit switch function can be realized. These scanning heads are IP-67 rated and insensitive to environmental pollution like grease, oil, coolant, dust and dirt.
